It's the healthiest I've ever eaten.

They've compiled foods that have been proven to help lose weight, and made a diet consisting of those foods. No food group is left out - even dairy, which I love.

The foods are categorized as: vitamin C (lots of choices here), calcium and dairy, protein (Atkins works for this reason, but it's not a healthy way to eat), healthy fats, quinoa (an ancient grain used in Middle Eastern food), reservatol, honey, fiber (again lots of choices), vinegar, cocoa, and select herbs and spices.

It eliminates most convenience foods (yes, I'm cooking!), trans fats, sugar, and artifical sweetener (which just keeps you craving sugar).

Lots of fresh food, few preservatives. I've discovered that sodium-based preservatives are the main source of my headaches, and they are much less frequent now. I'm also much more satisfied with what I'm eating.

Plus, I'm exercising more, although I'm still not planning on running a marathon anytime soon (like never). I use my own mix of aerobics, strength training, yoga, and Pilates, rather than using the suggestions in the book.

This sounds very similar to some advice I recently got from a friend who is a nutritionalist. We've really been focusing on increasing our lean protein and decreasing our fats. Except the healthy fats, like you said. I was excited to find out that I could still make Thai curries since the fat in coconut milk is a good fat that actually increases metabolism. And I love quinoa! It's every bit as versatile as rice.

I actually eat quinoa for breakfast. You can cook it ahead of time, then take some out of the frige and microwave it with some milk and add fruit.

I also discovered I like kale.

Awesome! I need to get rid of highly refined everything in my diet. Moar quinoa!
