Election Day Shenanigans

To follow the election results, I put on Sirius/XM OutQ at 8:00 for Michelangelo Signorile's coverage. Around 9:00, I also got on Facebook, where friends updated statuses with things like "Pennsylvania goes to Obama!" and I occasionally got on CNN to refresh their electoral map. (Facebook and Twitter are really fun ways to follow live events, especially if your candidate is winning).

And yes, some of my friends know there was also drama, but as that's been talked about ad nauseam on FB, I won't go into detail about it here, too. At this point I'm over it. Truth be told, I was waiting for a good reason to unfriend him anyway.

At 11:00, I heard that voice in my head, "Step away from the computer." Reluctantly, I turned it off and went to bed.

The next day I woke up to the wonderful news.

As I left for work, my newspaper was delivered. I had the biggest grin on my face. I guess he knew who I voted for! Then I went to the funeral parlor work. Yes, I was surrounded by disappointed conservatives, several of whom had no clue what went wrong. This is what happens when you live in the Fox bubble and believe everything they say is fact. I kept to myself as much as possible and did not gloat. Gloating to the company president is not a good idea.

So, not only was Obama re-elected, ALL FOUR of the marriage issues went in favor of the lgbt population. YAY!!! We no longer have to hear that every time marriage equality is put to a vote, it is defeated. This time, marriage equality won quite soundly. The people have indeed spoken.
