No worries. I don't mind trying to be a voice of moderation in these rather emotionally fraying times North America has found itself in, what with the Boston Bombers and those two yahoos who were charged conspiring to derail a VIA Rail train. It's a dirty job but someone has got to do it. :-)

In all fairness though to individuals like that state senator who advocates torturing the bombing suspect I do get the primal anger that he must feel over this, and I have no doubt that if someone ever hurt a member of my family that way I'd absolutely want them for 24 uninterrupted hours alone in a Canadian Tire store. However for better or worse (and I think its better overall) our legal systems don't work that way, which is probably why North America is considered on the whole a better place to live than the Middle East, Ancient Rome, or Medieval Europe.

I would never tell people that its not ok to feel such anger, or even say such things. No one has the right to tell anyone how to feel in such a tragedy but that being said I hope these little snippets and brain droppings help people get back to a more even keel at least as far as their decision making. There maybe no way for me to help people heal from the trauma but if it keeps them from having to regret inflicting trauma on others then I'll consider these statements time well spent.

I agree that all feelings are valid. Anger in and of itself is not a bad thing. It's what we do with it that is important.

I think that as a legislator, it is very important that words are measured. They should pause before they speak.

It might be a good idea for the folks over at Fox Noise as well.
