Harry Potter

Bella went to the local premiere of "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince." I decided not to go to Pittsburgh. There aren't really any serious Harry Potter costumers around here, so I figured I'd just go to the local theatre.

I think I need to get a new Bella wig. This is getting too big, even for her. It's overpowering the rest of the costume. ;P

This theatre isn't fancy, but it has a family-friendly atmosphere. On a night like this, when there might be lots of underrage kids out, you'll see moms hanging around just to make sure everthing's alright. Kids overall are very polite in this town.

Very minor spoilers here. I'm not bothering to hide them because if you haven't read the book, you won't really know what I'm talking about anyway.

The movie was great. belluthien's favorite scene will be when Snape heals Malfoy. Very touching, just like in the book. Alan Rickman is his usual brilliant self. He is so perfect for this role.

Draco is featured a lot and Tom Felton does a very good job conveying the angst.

Bella is featured more. In the book, she was only in the beginning, but she is around at the end of the movie in all her evil glory. ;)

They did a good job deciding what to put in and what to leave out. It's funny, but one of my favorite scenes in the book - which didn't make the film, and I totally understand why - is when Harry tells off the new Minister of Magic. I guess it shows how much I hate politicians and politics.

Nice, we always like going to the local theater and scaring the normals.

LOL! Yeah, it's fun. ;)

There were a few others dressed, but we're talking store-bought robes, hats, etc. One witch had a twig wand, which was kind of cool.

One Slytherin student had Elf ears, and I didn't get a chance to ask her why.

How did the crowd respond to your fantatic Bella? :)

I look forward to seeing the scenes with Snape, and anticipated already that Snape healing Malfoy would be my favorite scene. ;)

Everyone seemed to like it. The people who knew me recognized me right away (who else is crazy enough around here?).

You rock the Bella!

I admit I wimped out this time, it was just 3 of us, and of the 3 I was the only one who might have even considered dressing up... and then it was too hot out and I was lazy...

It's so funny, I have almost no recollection of the book now, so the movie was quite exciting!

I can't go to an event for which I have a costume and not wear it!

I've gone back to read parts of the book. The movie went so fast, it was over before I knew it.
