Health Care

Everyone's weighing in, so I might as well, too.

There is something seriously wrong with a system that makes its money by treating sick people. There is no incentive for them to help prevent people from getting sick in the first place.

No one says it better than hazelrah1:

And yeah, real dialogue would be nice. There has not been enough because there are too many wackos preventing others from voicing their views.

Free speech is for everyone, not just whoever shouts the loudest.

I don't have the answers, but anyone who says there is no problem needs to open their eyes.

I think I've learned the most out of the health care system through Mel's situation. I was competely shocked to find out how much they were charged and were going to be charged a month to use equipment she needs to survive.

I think its incredibly disgusting how they make their money and how much they charge the sick for things they need. Its as if they put the sick and elderly in a corner and say: "You either give us thousands of dollars for the equipment and medication you need or you can just die."

Health care should be a given, such as schooling. We'll all need it eventually, so why does it have to cost so much?? *kicks the system repeatidly*

I listen to Michelangelo Signorile nearly every day, and this has been discussed extensively (yeah, actual discussion). The things some people say are absolutely heartless. It's like you said, if you can't pay for it, you don't deserve it.

Like it's really cheaper for all of us for someone without insurance to wait until they're having a heart attack and have the surgery rather than give preventive care up front.

Taxpayers say they don't want to pay for everyone else's health care. Guess what? We already do. Who pays for it when the patient can't? We all do with higher costs and higher insurance rates.

Quality health care is a right, not a privilege.
