That Wierd Girl With the Blue Cape

I've been on my own for over ten years now. And that's OK, but I've been keeping my eyes open. I'm ready to try again, finally. Meanwhile...

I got my hair cut. I'm not liking it. You know, there's a really fine line between the cool Adam hairstyle and the "WTF" old Kate Goslin style. It may just need to grow a bit. I'm wrestling with it, but I did get a compliment on it today. Meanwhile...

I met this REALLY cute guy in the shop as I was leaving. Fifty-ish, grey streaked, slightly curly hair. Thin and with a really cute smile. We were just kind of staring and smiling at each other. But she was there, and we were both shy.

Later, I had to go to the bank (since I was so blown away, I forgot earlier), so I stopped back to ask about him. He is available (!) with a grown son in college. He's been divorced about a year longer than me. He works for the state parks, and she's known him since he was about 18.

She offered to give me his phone number. (What?! Welcome to small town living.) I said, "No. That's a bit stalker-ish." But I asked her to give him my phone number next time he's in. I said, "Tell him I'm that wierd girl with the blue cape." Hee.

But like I said, I'm thinking about changing stylists. If they are friends and anything comes of this (big IF), that may prove difficult. ;)

(Thanks to Yvette for letting me bounce things off her tonight!)

That's exciting! Even if nothing comes of it, it's exciting. :)

Well, you haven't seen it since I got it cut a few days ago. It's really a struggle to get what I want from her. We just aren't communicating.

I don't like fussing with my hair, and with a good cut, I don't have to.

Exciting. I love the prospects of something new. It's really a rush. I think you made the right decision by not taking his number since you don't know if he would approve of it being given out (I get squeamish about people passing out my number). I hope he calls!

Yes, I felt that taking his number without his permission would be crossing a line.

I guess we'll see what happens.

Hello,

I think it is funny that you are fretting over his friendship with the stylist you are considering leaving. It has been my observation that most solidly heterosexual guys only go to the same stylist out of habit.

Good Luck,

Eric

I think he knew her before she was a stylist. Like I said, it's a very small "everybody knows everybody" kind of town. I am the outsider.

But it's my sense of loyalty that's partly the issue here. I've asked her to do me this favor, and then I turn around and find another stylist?

I've been going to her for years partly out of convenience myself, though I've been happy with her until recently. I've stuck to more conventional styles until now.

cool story. I hope something comes of it. I miss you and hope you are doing well. I'm trying to play LJ catch up, but it's gonna take a while. :P

I miss you, too. Don't you wish everyone could be busy and not busy at the right times? When you are busy, people post like crazy, and if you have time, no one is posting anything.

Good luck catching up.
